“i don’t know why apple bothers to put good cameras on the iPhone anyway when you already know that all the hipsters are just gonna Instagram their photos into old-timey oblivion.”—Random guy said this on a blog. It’s true though.
Suffers from extreme social anxiety, but people just don’t want to admit it.
Everybody is all up on social media and connecting, but then they turn around and want to be anonymous on sites as much as possible. They have phones but they text more than they talk, for whatever reason.
Things I used to have and things I have now in comparison:
One of my first TVs was 19 inches with analog inputs. Now I have a 40+ inch widescreen 1080p HDTV. Actually I have three of them (two Sharps, one Sony).
My first phone, I remember it was a really small blue Nokia. I lost mine in a mall in NY. Then my pops gave me his, I lost that one too. Now I just got a new one recently: 1080p HD video recording, wi-fi, 8mp camera, FM radio, dual-core processor, 1gb RAM, 4.3 inch screen, Android. Compared to that first one… well, there’s not even a comparison.
The internet. Wow. I’ve had this shit since ‘94 when I was little. That Bellsouth dialup was something else. Websites from big name corporations were really bad, literally filled with stuff made in Microsoft Paint. But I’m not sure if this is a convenience because its gotten better though. Youtube, Wikipedia, Amazon, Facebook, and some other sites have changed things and made it more addictive, but really, I miss the days when it “wasn’t cool” to most and you could log on and buy things whenever you want. Now its a rush and things sell out quick.
The fact that if I want something, I just have to save up money and buy it. Nothing like not having to beg for money from the folks.
I like this site. It’s a combination of Last.fm, Hype Machine and Streampad. You can find new music from a lot of sources like Soundcloud, and also songs posted on Tumblr blogs. You can put a exfm player on your blog that will play your recently posted songs (like Streampad), but you can also make it play songs that you’ve ‘liked’ on exfm too. Plus it scrobbles them to Last.fm.
Gonna mess with the Android app later. Love finding new music.
